Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain and Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic team. The Supply Chain and Purchasing Officer will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our supply chain processes and purchasing activities to ensure the seamless flow of materials and products necessary for the success of our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong organizational skills and a background in supply chain management and purchasing within the life science industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Manage inventory levels to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
  • Oversee the purchasing process, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, issuing purchase orders, and tracking deliveries.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, laboratory, business development and SHEQ, to align supply chain activities with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management and purchasing, preferably within the life science or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using supply chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management software).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a fast-paced startup environment.
